▫️ On March 10, 2023, having left the fire support group to cover the main offensive forces of the unit, the deputy commander of the platoon (Western Military District) Sergeant Alexander Maltsev decided to bypass the enemy from the rear and as part of a group of three people started an assault on the fortress.

▫️ During the battle, two soldiers in the group were injured. Despite the threat to life, Alexander, showing endurance and courage, pulled the wounded comrades out of the fire, which made it possible to save their lives.

▫️ After the evacuation of the wounded, Sergeant Alexander Maltsev continued to carry out the assigned combat mission. Acting secretly and decisively, despite superior enemy forces, the sergeant single-handedly attacked the redoubt.

💥 During the short battle, Sergeant Alexander Maltsev destroyed several servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, several servicemen were taken prisoner, which put the rest of the enemy personnel to flight.

▫️ Thanks to bold and decisive actions, the sergeant was able to fulfill the assigned combat mission of capturing the enemy stronghold.

▫️ Having secured a platoon on this line of defense, Alexander provided fire support to the forward units of the detachment, which ensured the successful completion of the combat mission of capturing enemy positions.

▫️ Despite constant mortar and artillery shelling for three days (from March 10 to March 13), the platoon personnel under the command of Sergeant Maltsev, repeatedly repelling counterattacks by superior enemy forces, steadfastly held the strategically important line of defense .

▫️ On March 13, during defensive operations during one of the mortar attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergeant Maltsev received injuries incompatible with life.

▫️ Sergeant Alexander Maltsev demonstrated courage and bravery in the performance of combat missions. By his actions, the sergeant motivated personnel to show courage during the invasion of Ukraine."
