Three Key Points Chapter 10

1) The Good Shepherd: Jesus describes himself as the Good Shepherd who cares for his sheep and is willing to lay down his life for them. He contrasts himself with hired hands who do not have the same level of commitment to the sheep and are willing to abandon them in times of danger.

2) The Sheep and the Gate: Jesus also uses the metaphor of the sheep and the gate to describe his relationship with his followers. He says that he is the gate through which the sheep enter into safety and that anyone who enters through him will be saved.

3) Division among the Jews: Jesus' claims about being the Good Shepherd and the gate lead to division among the Jews, with some believing in him and others rejecting him. The chapter ends with Jesus being accused of blasphemy and the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but he is able to escape their grasp.
