It was Friday night, I’d been workin’ late.
I pulled in the drive and did a double take.
There were people in the house, and people in the yard.
They were dancin’ on the porch, and playin’ cards.
Walked thru the door and found my girl.
She was drinkin like was the end of the world.

I said, “I don’t mind a party, hell not at all.
And I don’t care about the holes in the wall.
I’m just concerned…is there any booze left?
‘Cause That’s My Whiskey…On Your Breath.

She said, “Don’t worry honey, all is well.”
Well she was slurrin’ her words. She was drunk as hell.
She said, “I want you to meet an old friend of mine.
We went to school together since we were nine.
He just got into town, so I threw him a party.”
I knew he was an old flame…his name was Marty.

I said, “Listen up boy, you’re flirtin’ with disaster.
You’ve been drinkin’ with my girl, and you both are plastered.
You can take her home, I could really care less
But That’s My Whiskey…On Your Breath.

I kicked ‘em both out of the house and closed the door.
I found my dog, Elvis, he was crashed on the floor.
I said, “You’re not a cheater, like my girl was.”
And you don’t stink as bad as Marty does.
But you’re a bad dog Elvis, I must confess.
Cause’ That’s My Whiskey on Your Breath.

Now, I’m not bothered by your ticks & fleas
Or that you chased the cat up the tree
But what ticks me off, I must profess
is That’s My Whiskey…On Your Dog Breath.
Ah…your 4-legged breath!
