Hippo

In ancient times, when The Creator made all the animals, He created each one with care and attention. But there was one creature that He forgot, the Hippopotamus. Realizing His mistake, The Creator decided to use the remaining animal parts to create the Hippo.

When the Hippo saw himself for the first time, he was filled with shame and embarrassment. He was too self-conscious to live on the land like the other animals. So, he begged The Creator to allow him to live in the water, where he could hide away from prying eyes.

The Creator was hesitant to grant this request, fearing that the Hippo would eat all the fish in the water with its large mouth and teeth. But the Hippo promised that he would only eat grass and not harm any of the fish.

Still unsure, The Creator refused the request several times, but the persistent Hippo would not give up. Finally, The Creator relented but on one condition - the Hippo must scatter his dung on the land every day so that The Creator could examine it for fish bones.

And so, to this day, the Hippo lives in the water during the day, only coming out at night to graze on the land and scatter its dung. The Creator's condition is a reminder that every action has consequences and that promises must be kept.
