Does life sometimes feel like you're trapped in a glass cage? Where, for some reason, you cannot seem to really move forward, but you're not sure why you're stuck at the place you're at?

You've most likely encountered mental resistance to your next level in life.

Perhaps, you've found yourself using dismissing phrases like:

"It's just impossible."
"That's not for me."
"I would like to, but..."
"I don't know how"

So, why do we have these mental barriers to success?

One thing to notice about the limbic brain (also called the reptilian brain) is that it is programmed for the purpose of keeping us SAFE, not for achieving success! This part of your brain is NOT your friend when it comes to you achieving your goals and becoming your best self, not at all.

Here's a tough truth about achieving success:

No matter how badly you feel about the situation you're in, the one thing that you mind hates even more than that situation is CHANGE! Change is scare to our minds because back in prehistoric times, anything that's unfamiliar could be a threat to our survival.

These mental barriers you encounter are meant for your "protection".

That's why it's so difficult to change as a person!

On one hand, your mind puts up this mental resistance to change, because it doesn't want you wandering into unknown territory.

Additionally, there are things that you have experienced in your life, just like we ALL have. One of the functions of our subconscious is to keep these things suppressed so that they don't "ruin" our day to day life. Again, your mind uses this kind of dismissive language to not have to go and face the things that are deep down in your subconscious.

So realize this:

When you're feeling intense mental resistance to something, push through it even harder! You're literally knocking at the door of your own breakthrough in life, so knock harder and break down the door if you have to!

That's how you create your next breakthrough in life!
