Everybody's Different (Practical Use For Poetry)
first of the year, not the best topic to start off with, but i take them as they come.
a common consensus,
bubbling under the surface,
fuel for a fire,
heating the furnace,
cuz i can't stand,
sitting around
i find it really tough,
&
i can't stand,
compulsory,
systematic,
stuff,
in the first half i gave you the world,
and now where is the love,
double standards in the second half,
i'm just not robotic enough,
now i ain't interested,
in if things work out,
&
i ain't interested,
in how things turn out,
i give up,
being let down,
lack of sense,
from bunch of clowns,
pointing at the sky,
calling it the ground,
defending themselves,
without any sounds,
well, lies can't dim the light of truth,
nor can it hide the brightest proof,
everybody's different,
a golden rule from school,
afterwards you notice 'adults'
really dropped the ball,
because,
i can't stand,
sitting around
i find it really tough,
&
i can't stand,
compulsory,
systematic,
stuff,
was living for a better future,
so many never tried,
claiming life's a piece of cake,
a good foundation for their lies,
living for a better future,
so many never try,
the proof is in the pudding,
and their deserts would make me cry,
claiming overly sensible,
rookie appraisals,
less is more,
like aesop's fables,
i'll give you some factors,
that also fit's the proof,
lazy, scared and some comfort zones too,
well there is none that exists,
that time won't corrode,
freedom of movement,
is how the wind blows,
& there is no one that exists,
that does not take up space,
nothing better about these people,
nothing special about their place,
i say 'i can't stand,
sitting around
i find it really tough'
but the truth is i can't stand these clowns,
i've totally had enough,
&
when i say
'i can't stand,
compulsory,
systematic,
stuff,'
a bits a bit,
a lots a lot,
and we've all been tucked right up.
You were school children,
raised by strangers,
taught the unknown,
equals danger,
adjustment disorders,
in their way,
leaves loads of time,
to save the day,
from wifi in every home,
to now we share,
looks like we've grown,
traces of problems,
room for growth,
never addressing,
"I'm independent's" boasts,
casualties,
from twisting words,
when we lash out in anger,
it's what they deserve,
because we can't stand sitting around,
we find it really tough,
and we can't stand compulsory,
systematic,
stuff.
easy to believe we aren't accountable,
for what our silence implies,
with no difference in opinion,
whilst it's obviously not right,
