What is a good argument? #shorts

Philosopher Ric Machuga offers the following as qualities of a good argument.

Public. Avoid appeals to private feelings or experience. Root arguments in what is accessible to others.

Honest. Arguments should been seen as opportunities to collaborate rather than instigate. Seek truth not victory.

Seeking the best (not necessarily perfect) solution. Given that we are fallible and finite, seeking perfection can often be the enemy of progress. Very few things in life are certain — and that’s OK. Good enough really is good enough, in most cases.
