The family of a missing Columbus man is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of his remains.James Ryan Taylor disappeared in July 2020. Neither his remains nor his car has been recovered, although four people have been charged in connection to his disappearance after authorities declared him deceased.Taylor’s mother, Laura Taylor, told The Dispatch Tuesday that the family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of his remains.“We know that he is deceased, so we are asking for his remains,” she said. “The sheriff’s department is telling us we will never get his remains, but there is always hope. There is someone out there that knows what these people did with him.”Taylor’s family reported him missing to the Columbus Police Department on July 14, 2020. The search initially focused on the area of the cutoff island, which was the last place witnesses reported seeing him.In May 2021 four people were arrested in connection with the disappearance: Joseph Lane Purcell and Allan Michael Farley were both charged with murder, and Deborah Johnson and Javaris Decedic Johnson were charged with accessory after the fact.“Maybe somebody will have the decency to come forward,” Laura Taylor said.Laura Taylor asked anyone with any information on the location of James Ryan Taylor’s remains to call Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Det.
