The ancient Greek philosopher Xenophanes was born in a city called Colophon in Ionia, which is now Turkey. Most modern scholars say he was born between 570 and 560 BC.
He was a classical poetry orator and critic who left his land at the age of 25 and spent the next 67 years in other Greek lands, traveling far and wide to deliver his message and fulfilling his need for knowledge and entertainment, dying at or after the age of 92.
He talked about the limits of human knowledge and pointed out in an obvious way that beliefs should be seen as opinions, not the truth, to avoid the problems of dogmatism.
He was the most talked about of all the Pre-Socratic philosophers. All Greek thinkers felt his influence until the time of Aristotle, who labeled him as the founder of Eleatic philosophy. Rather than appealing to divine or mythological explanations, Xenophanes researched interpretations for natural phenomena such as clouds and rainbows based on fundamental principles.
Xenophanes' legacy is that he put reason at the center of Greek moral and religious thought, which led to a systematic way of thinking about science.
As a pioneer in epistemology, he also explained the differences between different kinds of knowledge and belief. Later philosophers, such as the Eleatics and the Pyrrhonists, viewed Xenophanes as the originator of their theories and interpreted his work in terms of those concepts; however, recent scholarship contradicts these claims.
The words of the great ancient Greeks have echoed through time keeping them relevant even in the 21st century and in today's video, we'll look at the best Xenophanes quotes.
▶️ Here are some of the best Xenophanes quotes:

• No human being will ever know the truth, for even if they happen to say it by chance, they would not even know they had done so.
