From the years 1989 to 1997 Seinfeld had dominated the world of television. There wasn't a single program that could keep up with it. Due to the massive amount of material they had pumped out in less than a decade, the sitcom once dubbed The Show About Nothing certainly gave birth to a pop-culture phenomenon. Jerry was pondering over what else they could possibly do with his character as well as George, Kramer and Elaine. In a rather dramatic reach for inspiration, he decided to go back to the exact bench where he told his father he wanted to be a stand up comedian at the age of just twenty-two. Sitting around and thinking about the future, he decided right then and there that was it. Season nine was going to be Seinfeld's goodbye. The production of the show's final episode was so secretive, that the entire NBC studio was put on lockdown. Jerry even ordered a certain type of ink for the script that couldn't be copied. A team of production assistants were tasked with shredding every single copy of the script at the end of each shooting day. The finale episode was one hour in length instead of the regular twenty-two minutes and was watched around the globe. While most shows sink into obscurity after ending, Seinfeld popularity has remained strong. How strong? Well let's just say there isn't a minute of the day where Seinfeld isn't airing somewhere on in the world. It's influence has sparked other TV shows, several common expressions and it's own Holiday. Jerry even went onto collaborate with a popular hip-hop artist.
