The first burglary occurred around 3:30 a.m. last Monday, where the thief entered through a broken window and tried to saw through the safe, taking a cash box and a smaller safe with a few thousand dollars inside when he was unable to access it. The next morning, the thief returned and broke into another window, using a tool used by welders to gain access to the larger safe, taking all the cash receipts for the day. The sisters who operate the restaurant are trying to raise money through GoFundMe to replace the damaged items and upgrade the security system. Both burglaries are being investigated by the Oakland Police Department.
