hello everyone and welcome to today’s episode of Creative on the Mend. Today we’re on a boat and headed to the St. John River with Captain Daniel OBrien and his friend, Jeff Adams. We’re here today to discuss how to get yourself out of depression in a creative and a healthy way.

Jeff, it’s great to have you here today. Can you tell us your story and how you got out of depression?

Thanks, it’s great to be here. Well, it all started a few months ago when I started having some pretty intense feelings of hopelessness, despair, and worthlessness. I felt like everything was stagnant and that I was stuck in a mental rut.

That’s great! What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with depression?

My biggest advice would be to not be afraid to reach out for help. There are so many resources out there that are designed to help those dealing with depression and other mental health issues.

If you don’t feel comfortable opening up to someone else, then try expressing yourself in some other way—stock photography, doodling, painting, etc. Doing something creative is one of the best ways to get out of a bad place and learn something about yourself in the process.

Thanks so much for joining us today Jeff. It’s been great hearing your story and getting your advice for those struggling with depression.

No problem! Happy to have been here.
