SouljaBoy changed the game and is the founding father of making it off of the internet – plus the bag he collected off ringtones alone is still something we've yet to see be replicated At the time of this recording Soulja Boy is hot on a press run demanding the respect he feels he's never been given credit it for and to be fair the man has a point. He was posting videos to YouTube back in 2006, that's before PewDiePie or most of your favourite online performers gave it any thoughts. He was publishing his music online before SoundCloud was even a thing and performing shows in the Atlanta area while holding down a job at Burger King flipping patties. 2007 was SouljaBoy's breakout year and although his career has perhaps simmered down in the decade plus that followed. He truly did pave the path for everyone who came after him online, not just rappers but me included. In fact an old video has surfaced of Soulja Boy pumping up the crowd where he inspired a young Gazzi Garcia, aka Lil Pump.
