Ruth Ann Scanzillo, AF of M Local #17 cellist and SAA registered Suzuki cello instructor, Books I - III, demonstrates how to set the left hand into FORWARD EXTENSION from 1st position ( the latter, a pre-requisite skill - see Parts I and II, in this series). Forward Extension is used whenever the key in question requires two, consecutive whole steps from the second and third intervals of any major scale or composed passage. Watch out, for "Elmo's Big Toe!" :D
