It is said that Samdruptse hill is actually a dormant volcano and that the Buddhist monks visit the place to offer prayers to the volcano to keep it calm. Crossing the ornamental gate of Samdruptse at the foothills we began our ascent through the snaking mountain road upwards.

Really peaceful place if you like serene surroundings. People who come here with children can really cause a ruckus but with adults that is not the case. Monastery in itself is one of the most beautiful in Sikkim. Gilded designs, thankas really make this place a viewing pleasure....🙂😌😌💚💜❤️
