This is the full length video for anyone that missed any parts of the trip or just want to see it all at one time.

The Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival is a major event in the city of Phetchaburi. It’s a 10 day event with demonstrations of local handicrafts, plays and many other activities will be accompanied by beautiful fireworks at night.

The State Railway of Thailand are using Japanese Kiha 183 trains as special excursion train to see the festival. The trains are very unique in Thailand with an elevated cab and a slanted nose. Originally built to deal with the snow of the northern Japanese prefectures they are popular for trips around Thailand. This trip is to Phra Nakhon Khiri Fair in Phetchaburi.

In the town of Phetchaburi the Phra Nakhon Khiri historical park has a dominant presence in the area. On top of an almost 100 meter high hill, Phra Nakhon Khiri overlooks the city area and can be seen from far away approaching the city. King Mongkut (Rama IV) loved this area so much; he decided to build a summer palace here to be used as a Royal retreat when visiting the area.

The festival centers around the hill with food and festivities taking place in the evening. In addition to the festival we get taken around the city to see the famous temples, enjoy local food as well as visiting the amazing palace built during the reign of King Rama V by a German architect.
