Pulling More Brood Feathers 🦉 03/25/23 13:32

It's time to rotate the egg and pull more of her brood feathers for warmth and insulation. While she is doing this, we get a wonderful view of her gorgeous feathers. Owls can have up to 10,000 feathers with the stealth advantage of silent flight. The serrated comb-like edges along the leading edge of their wings along with the velvet texture and fringed edges all together allow for air to pass through their wings while breaking up the sound.
