God Who is Rich in Mercies

Verse 1 :

A plan was set before the world started
To redeem man from the nature of sin.
And then when the fulness of time came,
God fulfilled it by sending His Son!

Chorus :

But God who is rich in mercy
For His great love wherewith He loved us,
Even when we were dead in our sins,
Hath quickened us together with Christ

Verse 2 :

And we who were dead hath He quickened.
We were dead in trespasses and sins.
In time past we walked according
To the courses of this sinful world.

(Chorus)

Verse 3 :

We who lingered in sins and trespasses,
At that time we knew not God’s own love.
Being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel.
No hope and without God in the world.

Verse 4 :

But we who were sometimes so far off,
In Christ Jesus we now are made nigh.
By the blood which was shed by our Saviour
We are now reconciled unto God.

(Chorus)

Verse 5 :

Our great God hath raised us together.
Made us sit in heavenly places in Christ.
So that in the ages to come
His exceeding rich grace He might show.

Verse 6 :

The great exceeding riches of God’s grace
In His kindness towards us through His Son.
For by grace we are saved through faith in Jesus.
Not of works it is the gift from our God.
