Collin Gow, C.N.C. goes foraging in Florida in oak hammock, pine flatwood, and forested wetland ecosystems just before the first day of spring while many plants are flowering. He identifies and discusses wild, edible and non-edible plants and their biological actions, health benefits, nutritional value, and ethnomedicinal uses. Cool identifications include: multiple Violet species, Spurge Nettle, Lyreleaf Sage, American Burnweed, Bull Thistle, male pine cones, and more. Some nice nature quotes appear in the video as well! Subjects such as botany, morphology, phenology, phytochemistry, ethnopharmacology, folk medicine, traditional medicine, natural medicine, and Native American (American Indian) medicine come up while on the hike.
