Weekly Encouragement | Romans 11:16

It is our privilege to encourage you this Friday as you are leaning toward the living God in this season of preparation for Jesus’ Death Burial and Resurrection. Our theme section of Scripture in this season is I Corinthians 15:20-28. Jesus is the firstfruits of the Resurrection.

We were like the olive shoots; those worthless twigs that spring up from around the base of a tree. We saw Jesus as a good person and maybe aspired to do good things like Jesus but no matter how hard we tried we had little hope of ever reaching our potential and producing good fruit.

Do you feel like that at times? Do you feel like no matter how hard you try that you seem to get nowhere fast? You try to do good but things seem to just get worse.

We must not only look to Jesus as our example but as God who became man, died on the cross and in three days resurrected from the dead. If you believe this to be true, then you agree with us at Calvary Chapel that He is the first fruit. And if you agree Jesus is the First Fruit then you are grafted into his tree and are therefore holy or set apart from the rest of the world.

Check back each Friday of this Lenten season for an encouraging message from one of our CCSM Pastors or leaders.
