12 sigma event

High Sigma events could be said to have the odds of occurring roughly once in thousands of years. For example, an event over 12 Sigma has the odds of occurring only twice in 10,000 years. That said, in the last few decades we have actually had a few of high Sigma events and each one larger and more devastating than the last.
