7 year old lands ~3 pound channel catfish off the dock on a pond [Eagle Lake]

My kids love fishing at Eagle Lake, where we have bass, crappie, brim, and catfish happily thriving among the naturally introduced snapping turtles and frogs. The dock increases the access to the pond and gives the kids a level surface to stand while fishing. I can’t tell you how many people have slipped in. :) today we were mostly catching brim, and that was our intention. However Hailey managed to catch the attention of a pretty good size catfish on a 1” yellow soft plastic curly tail jig with a yellow jig head. 🤷‍♂️ whatever works!
