Atomic Heart (2023) was developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment (I've been rooting for you Focus! You finally have a winner!)

Out of all possible ratings: Terrible, Bad, Average, Good, Great....

My rating, based upon my playthrough experience, is: Good!

This is a game about the dangers of transhumanism, and it conveys the applications of mixing mechanical, artificial, and biological matter in a way that is realistic (as an analog to what Meta wanted to be) and sensational. While the overall message is a clear warning about dangerous technology our elites are bumbling upon with reckless abandon without regard for the consequences, the story itself lacks severely in the end. Neither ending was what I would call a good conclusion to a very politically stimulating game.
That being said, the gameplay is fun and fans of the Bioshock series will feel at home. The open world mechanics are a little different but once you figure them out it's actually fairly simple in it's unorthodox approach. Shooting and looting is a lot of fun and very enjoyable.
There are some bugs, but nothing that stopped progression. It's mostly you passing through walls or getting stuck on rocks.
If you are in the market for an FPS that is a little different, I definitely recommend this. While it isn't perfect, it's still pretty good!

Atomic Heart is available on Playstation, Xbox, PC.
