Heavy is the Crown by The Dobermans

He thought someday
It would all make sense
That he could relax
In the present tense
He thought his ship
Would sail to shore
But it's lost at sea
Forevermore
He thought he'd stand
In the king's court
Giving counsel
Reciting law
The jester's
Rolling on the floor
The sentries point him
With swords to the door

He said
Unhand me
There's nothing
You plebs need to defend
There must be
Some misunderstanding
Let me
Back in again

He came back
With 40 men
The fool wants to take revenge
They cut down the night watch
And killed the king
While he slept

He reached down
To pick up the king's crown

Ambition makes a fool of a man
But he has to take chances
While he can

And he said
Heavy is the crown
What in the world
Have I done?
Now there's an angry mob
Waiting for me and you
