The King's Heart in Proverbs 21:1

The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.
Proverbs 21:1 ESV

This proverb and many examples in Scripture seem to indicate that the more power you have over other people, the less power you have over your own life. God uses kings, governors, and other powerful people to both guide and judge nations.
