Economic historian Chris Miller joins Rep. Crenshaw to talk about one of the most important battles of the 21st century: control of silicon chip manufacturing. They cover how silicon chips are made, how Taiwan gained the competitive advantage in manufacturing, China’s attempts to usurp Taiwan as the world’s chipmaking hub, how the U.S. enabled China’s development of their artificial intelligence systems, and what we need to do to catch up with Taiwan’s manufacturing capabilities.
