The Raids in May 1983 were an attack on the development of the social transformation of the Irish, expressed through these radio stations. As such all goverenments and those involved in these attacks suffered penalty. They still have not learnt.

These raids were instigated from sources in Northern Ireland. The Raids and the Jamming, had involvment with the a foreign country's state broadcaster, as word of the raidfs filtered from a source in Belfast.
The stations came back on, after a huge public protes, and continued to broadcast for another 5 years. When they were forecd off air in Dec 1988, the Irish Prime Minister and the Minister for Comunications were both guilty of other crimes, one went to jail, the other could never return to Ireland.
