Where to locate a Basement Bathroom
I'm currently building and adding a new bathroom to a basement, and I wanted to share with you 3 main points to consider when figuring out a location.
1. Be sure the location is dry 👊 If there is water coming in you need to mitigate that moisture before investing thousands into the new space
An interior French drain system is a great option for this and would be a perfect time to tackle it while cutting into concrete for new plumbing
2. Ceiling height. This might be just me, but I think this is important for resale and overall comfort. Low ceilings feel odd and do not work well for tall people 😆
3. Existing plumbing 🚽. This might sound obvious, but the closer you are to the main waste stack, the less trenching and difficultly you will have connecting to existing plumbing 👊
