George and Claire Natvig enjoy entertaining their friends with telekinetic tricks, convincing them that Claire has a special gift. Despite some guests' skepticism, they watch as Claire goes into a trance and a spoon on the table moves, along with a tea cup spilling onto a doubter, convincing them of her abilities. George and Claire laugh at deceiving their friends by using magnets to move the objects. They return home where their evening takes a dangerous turn when they find burglars in their home. Despite having installed a special alarm system, the burglars had disabled it. The couple manage to stand up and try to activate the alarm using Claire's telekinesis. George confesses that he had not been using magnets for quite some time. With great effort, Claire successfully sets off the alarm, along with other devices on the block, and even triggers a heart attack in one of the burglars due to a malfunction in his pacemaker. The police arrive, arresting one burglar while the other is rushed to the hospital. In the end, Claire and George become neighborhood heroes.
