There is a common thread with the musical drumming of Max Roach and the drumming style of John Bonham. Although they both came from different places and back rounds John Bonham recognized something unique and special in Max. There is a direct reason as to why Bonham had a great swing feel and loved incorporating triplets in his playing. He listened and studied the great American jazz drummers of his time.
