009-Qur'an Class Surat-ul-BAQARAH (Ayaat No. 06 to 20) ki TAFSEER (By Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza)
Verse 6: As for the disbelievers, it is the same whether you warn them or not, they will not believe.
This verse informs that those who do not believe in the message of the Quran will not accept it, no matter how much they are warned.
Verse 7: Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.
This verse explains that those who reject the guidance of Allah have sealed their own hearts against the truth and have become deaf to it. They have also blinded themselves to the signs of Allah, and they will be punished severely for their disbelief.
Verse 8: And there are some people who say, “We believe in Allah and in the Last Day,” while they are not believers.
This verse highlights the fact that some people claim to be believers, but their actions do not reflect their claims. True faith is not just a matter of words, but it requires one to live according to the teachings of Allah.
Verse 9: They seek to deceive Allah and those who believe, while they deceive none but themselves, but they do not realize it.
This verse exposes the hypocrisy of those who claim to be believers but have ill intentions. They may try to deceive Allah and other believers, but they ultimately deceive themselves and their actions will not go unnoticed.
Verse 10: In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they used to lie.
This verse explains that those who have diseased hearts, meaning those who have ill intentions and hypocrisy in their hearts, will only become worse. Their punishment will be severe because they have lied and betrayed the trust of Allah and His believers.
Verse 11: And when it is said to them, “Do not cause corruption on the earth,” they say, “We are but reformers.”
This verse highlights the arrogance of those who cause corruption on the earth but claim to be reformers. They justify their actions by saying that they are trying to make things better, but in reality, they are only causing more harm.
Verse 12: Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive it not.
This verse makes it clear that those who cause corruption on the earth are indeed the corrupters, but they are blinded by their own arrogance and do not realize the harm they are causing.
Verse 13: And when it is said to them, “Believe as the people have believed,” they say, “Should we believe as the foolish have believed?” Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know not.
This verse exposes the arrogance of those who refuse to believe in the guidance of Allah and mock those who do. They consider themselves wise, but in reality, they are the foolish ones who are unaware of the truth.
Verse 14: And when they meet those who believe, they say, “We believe”; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, “Indeed, we are with you; we were only mocking.”
This verse exposes the hypocrisy of those who claim to believe in front of believers but mock them in secret. Their actions show that they are not true believers and have allied themselves with the forces of evil.
Verse 15: Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression while they wander blindly.
This verse warns those who mock the guidance of Allah that they will face His punishment. Their arrogance and transgression will lead them astray, and they will remain in their blindness.
In verses 16 to 20 of Surah Al Baqarah, Allah discusses the attitude of the disbelievers towards the signs of Allah and their stubbornness and arrogance.
Verse 16: "Those who have been given knowledge know that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and it guides to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy."
Here, Allah reminds the believers that the knowledge and guidance that has been given to them through the Quran is the truth and leads to the path of Allah, who is exalted and worthy of praise.
Verse 17: "And those who disbelieve say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide."
The disbelievers, despite being aware of the truth of Allah's revelations, still demand a physical sign as proof. Allah reminds the Prophet (peace be upon him) that his role is only to warn people of the consequences of their actions, and it is up to each individual to choose their own path.
Verse 18: "Allah knows what every female carries and what the wombs lose and what they exceed. And with Him is knowledge of the Book."
Allah is all-knowing, and He knows everything that is hidden and unseen. This verse specifically mentions the knowledge of what is in the wombs of females, indicating Allah's control over the creation and development of life.
Verse 19: "He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed."
Here, Allah affirms His role as the Creator of the heavens, the earth, and everything in between. This verse emphasizes Allah's power and mercy, encouraging people to seek knowledge about Him from those who are well-informed.
Verse 20: "And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?"
This verse highlights the stubbornness and arrogance of the disbelievers, who refuse to follow the guidance of Allah and instead cling to the beliefs and practices of their forefathers, even if it leads them to destruction. It questions their reasoning and asks if they would follow even Satan if he were to lead them towards the punishment of Hellfire.
