I suppose we have all heard the term fake cheat shyster; the Bible cuts right to the chase and calls it the enemy of our soul, a liar, and a thief. I don't know anyone with common sense that would pay good money for something fake. However, whole industries are built on fake things, such as purses, tools, and watches. People buying them are either too cheap to pay the total price or are foolish enough to believe the person selling them.
What we're looking for is the "real McCoy."
In other words, please don't give me a fake; give me the real deal.
Could that be what this generation calls out for; the real Jesus?
After a generation or two of watered-down, gospel, half-baked preaching, powerless alder calls, and entertaining sermons. Do you think it's time for the real deal?
I do.
As they said, in that old game show on TV. Will the real Jesus please stand up?
That's you and me, my friend, the real Jesus in us, standing up in this generation and showing people the real deal.
Christ in you and me revealed with glory and power and truth. If we will do this and obey our destiny, this generation will turn around and embrace the cross.
The real deal is the cross of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the power of Christ in us, the hope of glory.
