College Students Charged with Criminal Mischief for Pushing Woman's Wheelchair Down Stairs

Two Mercyhurst University student athletes were charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after footage was released of them pushing a wheelchair down a flight of stairs at Sullivan’s Pub and Eatery in Erie, Pennsylvania. The wheelchair is owned by Sydney Benes, a 22-year-old who lost both her legs in a 2021 car accident. Benes was in the bathroom at the time.
