U2's 15th studio album Songs of Surrender released on March 17th. The album is part of a flurry of creative releases from the band. Bono's book, his subsequent book tour, a blast of video shorts by covering artists, interviews, a mini concert, a documentary hosted by David Letterman and a Las Vegas residency create a torrent of exposure for U2.

The Break It Down Show's response to the new album is to feature Dr Chris Endrinal who's PhD focuses on the work of U2. He and Pete A Turner are going to discuss the book, album and various projects that are released by the Irish band.

As we parse through the body of new work: Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr and Adam Clayton have done it again. The Book and Album are bold reimagination and reorchestrations of past work. Bono has managed to turn U2's catalog into a memoir.

Finally, There's an album fight series of battles featuring Songs of Surrender vs Songs of Surrender in a 3 fight battle to determine which set of the albums 40 songs is the strongest.
