This week, Pastor LT exposits Chapter 6 of Revelation. How can we understand the opening of the seven seals and all the catastrophes that result from each scroll? How can we understand when these things will happen and when Jesus will come to get his Church? Understanding The Day of the Lord is one key to unlocking this passage. Another key is laying two passages side-by-side and seeing how they align and inform one another. Jesus' description of end-times events in Matthew 24 perfectly aligns with chapter 6 of Revelation.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DAY OF THE LORD (2 Thessalonians 2:1–12)

*** 3 Important Questions to Ask to Understand The Day of the Lord ***

1) Is The Day of the LORD directly connected to the rapture of the Church and Jesus’ second coming? (2 Thessalonians 2:1-2)

2) Will the Church be on earth when the Antichrist is revealed? (2 Thessalonians 2:1-10)

3) Are there any other big things that happen right before or during the day of the Lord? (Isaiah 13:6-13, Zephaniah 1:14-19, Isaiah 34:1-4, 2 Peter 3:10-13, Acts 2:17-21, Revelation 6:12-17, Matthew 24:28-31)

*** The 7 Seals line up with Jesus' description in Matthew 24. ***

- Now that we know this information about The Day of the Lord, what do we do about it?

1. We endeavor to live a holy life.
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? “12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.” (2 Peter 3:10-13 NIV)

2. We continue to call on the Name of Jesus.
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Acts 2:21 NIV)
