The US State Department's 2022 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices have raised concerns over significant human rights problems in Pakistan.
The report highlights incidents of extrajudicial killings, arrests, and enforced disappearances by government forces, as well as a lack of government accountability and a culture of impunity among perpetrators.
Physical violence, restrictions on freedom of expression and media, discrimination against women, children, and workers were also highlighted in the report. The report covers 198 countries and territories and provides factual, objective information based on credible reports on events throughout 2022.
