Bill Gates Sounds Alarm on Risks of AI

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has cautioned about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) in a recent blog post. While acknowledging the possibilities that AI could offer, such as improving healthcare and education, Gates warned about the risks posed by AI, saying that humans armed with AI could pose the biggest threat.

"Could a machine decide that humans are a threat, conclude that its interests are different from ours, or simply stop caring about us? Possibly, but this problem is no more urgent today than it was before the AI developments of the past few months," Bill Gates wrote.

He called for governments to work with the private sector to limit the risks of the technology. Gates also acknowledged that the possibility of AI running out of control and causing harm is there.
