How to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour

HOW TO KNOW JESUS AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR

Jesus came to earth 2000 years ago to deal with the curse of sin and death that was handed down to us by our earliest ancestors…to free us from that curse. Adam and Eve lost God’s Spirit and this has been a fallen world ever since, full of problems all due to the root of sin in humanity. The word “sin” simply means to miss the mark. We are crooked and miss the mark of God’s perfection every day.

After the fall, it was required for blood to be shed to cover the sins of man. Animals (ideally an unblemished lamb) were sacrificed in temples for this purpose. Jesus came to win back God’s spirit for us by becoming our innocent sacrifical lamb on the cross to cover the sins of the whole world forever. And when He comes again, it will be to set up His kingdom.

WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN
Jesus said to the pharisee Nicodemus,
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered,
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:3-6

In order to be born again which is to make the Spirit alive in us, we need to be reconciled and enter into a relationship with our Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus Christ.. Apostle Paul tells us how:

“If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10: 9-10.

This means to believe in the death , burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that the blood He shed on the cross covers your sins. And make Jesus the Lord of your life from that point on. To follow Him and yield to His will.

SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH
We are sinners in need of God’s forgiveness. Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead on the third day. It’s through our faith in Jesus and the finished work of the cross that we are forgiven. We receive the gift of the Holy Spirt making us spiritually alive, sealed and redeemed for eternal life with our Father in heaven. This is God’s plan of salvation that enables us to become children of God. A free gift open to anyone who wishes to receive it.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

The Grace we are given is a power that enables us to live the life that Jesus wants for us. Our own works cannot save us. It is purely the blood atonement Jesus made on the cross and our willingness to follow Him.

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves. It is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2: 8-9

PICK UP YOUR CROSS

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24

Following Jesus is not easy especially in a world that’s heading the opposite direction but it is more worth it than you can ever imagine! If you give your life to Him, you’ll come to know His incredible love, joy and peace. He fulfills every desire of our hearts and takes away the fear of death because our soul is entered into his rest. This is not about religion. It’s about having a personal relationship with our Creator. He wants to have that with you.

At the end of this video, there’s a sample prayer. Simply saying it won’t save you. if you mean it and pour your heart out to Him and truly believe then He will hear you and you will be saved. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you are sealed and redeemed by God for a magnificent eternity with Him. Jesus Christ is the only way.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
