What's Under your bed...

Sophie had always been afraid of the dark. Even as an adult, she would sleep with a night light and check under her bed before going to sleep. But one night, when she was staying at her friend's house, she was forced to confront her fear.

Her friend's house was a big, old Victorian mansion, with creaky floorboards and shadowy corners. Sophie tried to put her fears aside and went to bed, leaving the night light on as usual. But as she drifted off to sleep, she heard a strange noise coming from the closet.

It was a low, guttural growling sound, like an animal. Sophie sat up in bed, her heart racing. She knew she should ignore it and go back to sleep, but something about the noise made her uneasy. She got out of bed and cautiously made her way over to the closet.

As she opened the door, she gasped in horror. There was a creature crouched inside, its eyes glowing red in the darkness. It was covered in fur, with razor-sharp teeth and long, clawed fingers. Sophie stumbled back in terror, but the creature lunged at her.

Sophie tried to run, but the creature was too fast. It chased her through the house, its growls echoing off the walls. Sophie tried to hide, but the creature seemed to know exactly where she was. She was trapped, with no way out.

But then Sophie had an idea. She remembered something she had read in a book, about how to conquer your fears. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, and then she turned around to face the creature.

To her surprise, the creature vanished. It was as if it had never been there at all. Sophie breathed a sigh of relief and went back to bed, feeling victorious over her fear.

But as she drifted off to sleep, Sophie heard a new noise coming from the closet. It was a soft, almost imperceptible breathing sound, like someone sleeping. Sophie froze, listening intently. And then she realized what it was.

The creature was still there, waiting for her in the darkness.
