Mark Francois attempts to push back Rishi Sunaks assertion of the ERG being completely irrelevant.
In response to Rishi Sunak's assertion that the European Research Group (ERG) is completely irrelevant, Conservative MP Mark Francois has taken issue and made an attempt to push back.
With the passage of the Stormont break arrangement in Parliament, Rishi Sunak has been able to move forward with his Windsor agreement intact. However, Mark Francois argues that a significant number of people either did not or could not vote for the Stormont agreement, and that this represents a significant challenge to Sunak's new agreement.
Francois asserts that Sunak's agreement allows EU rules to take precedence over UK law in Northern Ireland, and suggests that every left-leaning remainer voted for Sunak's remainer agreement before the details of the new agreement were fully understood.
