Canada: Indigenous leaders discuss infrastructure funding for First Nations – March 22, 2023

On Parliament Hill, representatives from the First Nations Finance Authority (FNFA) urge the federal government to adopt a new funding method for Indigenous infrastructure. Their proposed model would require Ottawa to set aside $200 million in annual funding in the upcoming federal budget, which is set to be tabled on March 28, 2023.

Speaking to reporters are Ernie Daniels (president and CEO of the FNFA), Warren Tabobondung (FNFA chair and chief of the Wasauksing First Nation, Ont.) and Patrick Courtois (FNFA director and councillor of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh First Nation, Que.)
