Beverly Garland (1926-2008) was an American film and television actress. Born in Santa Cruz, California, she began her acting career in the 1950s and quickly established herself as a versatile performer, appearing in a wide variety of film and television roles throughout her career. She is perhaps best known for her role as Casey Jones in the crime drama television series "Decoy" (1957-1958), which was one of the first TV shows to feature a female lead character in a police procedural role. Garland also appeared in numerous other TV shows throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including "The Bing Crosby Show," "Perry Mason," and "The Mod Squad." In addition to her television work, Garland also had a successful film career, appearing in movies such as "D.O.A." (1950), "The Miami Story" (1954), and "The Alligator People" (1959). She was married to actor Richard Garland from 1953 until his death in 1969 and later married businessman Fillmore Crank. Beverly Garland passed away in 2008 at the age of 82.
