How to Grow a Brokerage by Recruiting Real Estate Agents That Are Ready to Lead

In the latest episode of the Freedom Chasers Six Figure Strategies Podcast, Mario Fox, CEO of boutique brokerage office Fox Realty Group, shares his journey to becoming a successful real estate broker. Mario discusses how he transitioned into real estate and eventually started his own brokerage, which has grown to 17 agents in the past seven months. In this blog post, we will delve deeper into Mario's story and highlight the key takeaways from his interview.

Mario's military background instilled discipline and a strong work ethic in him, which he carried over into his real estate career. He had always been interested in real estate but had never pursued it until he met a top-producing agent, Anthony Mason, who inspired him to do so. Anthony's sharpness, knowledge, and ability to help people impressed Mario, and he knew he wanted to be like him. Mario decided to take the leap and transition into real estate.

Mario entered the luxury real estate market by door-knocking and building relationships with potential clients. He stressed the importance of passion and networking, as well as dressing appropriately for the job. Mario's move to Louisiana to help start a boutique brokerage with a group of builders who wanted their own brokerage to list their properties was a turning point in his career. The brokerage grew quickly due to its focus on new construction and diverse group of office directors and agents who treated each other like family.

The brokerage was able to attract top-producing agents from other brokerages by offering them leadership roles and providing them with a commission-free business model. Mario stressed the importance of being passionate and trustworthy as a leader to attract the right agents. The brokerage's focus on new construction was also attractive to the agents.

Mario shared his experience of being fired by his former friend via text message, which left him depressed and struggling to figure out his next steps. He questioned whether his former partner thought about the impact the decision would have on his family. However, Mario didn't let this setback define him. He started his own brokerage with the help of his supportive wife and is now thriving in his new venture.

Mario emphasized the importance of focusing on the clients and their needs, rather than just cold-calling or chasing money. He advocates sticking to the basics and never forgetting them. He also shared that if he had a billion dollars, he would continue with his brokerage and invest more to make it better for his agents.

Mario has a passion for his agents, who he considers family. He spoke about how they don't see him as just a 32-year-old broker but as their leader. He stressed the importance of treating agents like family and creating a supportive work environment.

Mario Fox's story is one of perseverance and resilience. He overcame setbacks and obstacles to build a successful brokerage that treats agents like family and focuses on clients' needs. Mario's emphasis on passion, trust, and a strong work ethic is inspiring and can serve as a blueprint for anyone looking to succeed in the real estate industry.
