Mysteries of the Bible - Adonai's Passover E1M1 Part 1

The honest reader of the Bible, both "old" and "new" covenants, can only come to one conclusion about the Exodus story and its depiction of the events as supernatural! How would you react if these events were witnessed today? The accurate interpretation and faith in the word of Elohim, the Bible, is essential to living and walking in faith. In Exedous, Adonai calls for the sacrifice of a lamb, ultimately saving the Israelites after seeing the blood on the doorposts of their houses, passed over, "Peschac" keeping Israel from death, Adonais Peschac, "Passover." In the new Covenant, Yeshua observes the same Passover as documented by several verses; Luke 14 and Mark 14 are the most quoted by scholars and Bible students. Reading the text will explain the season, the event, and the purpose of the meeting with the disciples. This is a new covenant era of observance in Adonai's Passover, observed by Yeshua and His disciples. However, this would be the last one on earth until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of Adonai. It explains how His sacrifice will establish the new covenant and the continuation of Adonai's Passover to be celebrated every year in remembrance of Yeshua's fulfillment of the prophecy of the servant of Adonai and His suffering. We have everlasting forgiveness of sins and eternal life through the blood-shedding of Yeshua, encompassing the world for those who believe and accept Him as Messiah.

Yeshua Kept the Passover
Yeshua kept the Feast of Passover as commanded by the law (Exodus 12:14, 24). He was the Passover Lamb that was to replace and fulfill the old Passover lamb (1Cor 5:7). If the Unleavened Bread and the Wine are the emblems of Jesus as the Passover Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29), then the name of the Feast remains Passover. It does not have to be called Passover; it is Passover by the sacrifice it commemorates. Is the name the Gospel writers give to the annual Feast, commanded under the law. This Feast was also a supper John 13:2; Greek deipnon: dinner, Feast, Supper (Strong's 1173). But we know the Supper was the Passover Feast. Rightly this should have been translated as Feast. It is called Supper in the Gospels. But Supper is not its name. It was the Last Supper Yeshua ate before his crucifixion, but it was not called the Last Supper; it was called Passover. The Passover meal is called the Lord's Supper, which in Hebrew would be Adonai's Passover. Yeshua did not invent a day, new commandment, sacrament, or celebration; it was, and still is today, Adonai's Passover. However, he demonstrated that He was the Passover Lamb who took away the world's sins through the bloodshed on the stake. The blood continues to be the sign between Adonai and Yeshua, bringing all who believe in Him and the one who sent Him in the covenants Adonai has with Israel, and we then are grafted in and can partake in those promises and covenants. He did institute his own commemoration, which is also a Supper because of the time it is eaten. But, the name of the Feast is not named Supper or the Last Supper. It is called Adonai's Passover.

The name change
The Catholic church has named the Eucharist Mass to replace the name of the Passover. They even call it the sacrament, which is not in the Bible. Easter has come to replace the name of Passover, which stems from pagan practices and ignores the suffering servant of Adonai but only celebrates the resurrection. These actions remove Adoani and the significance of the Passover to the people.

Piphanius of Salamis wrote in the mid-4th century, "... the Emperor... convened a council of 318 bishops ... in the city of Nicea. ... They passed certain ecclesiastical canons at the Council besides, and at the same time decreed regarding the Passover that there must be one unanimous concord on the celebration of God's holy and supremely excellent day. For it was variously observed by people ..." (Epiphanius, The Panarion of Epiphanius of Salamis, Books II and III (Sects 47-80), De Fide. Section VI, Verses 1,1 and 1,3. Translated by Frank Williams. EJ Brill, New York, 1994, pp.471-472).

The Nicene Council assumed the task of regulating these differences, partly because some dioceses wanted the Christian calendar independent of the Jewish calendar. "The festival of the resurrection (Lord's Supper) was thenceforth required to be celebrated everywhere on a Sunday, and never on the day of the Jewish Passover, but always after the fourteenth of Nisan, on the Sunday after the first vernal full moon. S

Some commentators have concluded that the desire for an independent Christian calendar was motivated by bitterness towards Judaism" (Schaff, Philip. "History of the Christian Church, Volume III: Nicene and Post-Nicene).

A circular letter of Emperor Constantine issued during the Council with strong anti-Jewish language lends weight to the charge of anti-Judaism, stating that: "... it appeared an unworthy thing that in the celebration of this holiest festival we should follow the practice of the Jews, who have impiously defiled their hands with enormous sin and are, therefore, deservedly afflicted with blindness of soul. ... Let us then have nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd; for we have received from our Saviour a different way" (Eusebius of Caesaria. "Life of Constantine (Book III)").

Theodoret recorded the Emperor as saying: "It was, in the first place, declared improper to follow the custom of the Jews in the celebration of this holy festival because their hands having been stained with crime, the minds of these wretched men are necessarily blinded. … Let us, then, have nothing in common with the Jews, who are our adversaries. ... avoiding all contact with that evil way. ... who, after having compassed the death of the Lord, being out of their minds, are guided not by sound reason, but by an unrestrained passion, wherever their innate madness carries them. ... a people so utterly depraved. ... Therefore, this irregularity must be corrected, so that we may no more have anything in common with those parricides and the murderers of our Lord. ... no single point in common with the perjury of the Jews" (Jackson, Blomfield. "The Ecclesiastical History, Dialogues, and Letters of Theodoret).
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and Judah." - Jer 31:31

Nature & Purpose
Cutting EDGE Ministries is a Messianic Judaism ministry seeking to bring the knowledge of Elohim's relationship with Jew and Gentile through the gospel of Yeshua, as described in the B'rit Chadashah, "New Covenant," the natural extension of the Abrahamic covenant. Evidence of the soon return of our Messiah is on earth today, now more than ever. You may know the prophecies of the Messiah, the rebirth of the tribes of Israel in the country of Israel! Some call them fables or stories, but those who claim these messages are coincidences are avoiding the rocks, crying out! The evidence is being found daily by archeologists in Israel.

We believe Yeshua is the Messiah who died to redeem the world from sin. We also believe that the Jews are the chosen people, "The Apple of Elohim's eye," and believers in Yeshua are "grafted" or adopted into the covenants with Israel established by Elohim and, therefore, Israel. The Hebrew Bible is essential to Messianic Judaism. Without it, the B'rit Chadashah, "New Covenant," could not have been written, and there could have been no Messiah.

"Remember your former state: Gentiles birth — called the Uncircumcised by those who, merely because of an operation on their flesh, are called the Circumcised — at that time had no Messiah—estranged from the national life of Isra'el. You were foreigners to the covenants embodying God's promise. You were in this world without hope and God. But now, you are near through the shedding of the Messiah's blood. For he is our shalom — he has made us both one and has broken down the m'chitzah which divided us." Ephesians 2:11-14

All benefit from understanding Covenants, the Torah, "Tanakh," and the "B'rit Chadashah", observing Shabbat, Elohim's festivals and holidays, and spreading the light of the kingdom of Elohim to a dying world, lost without Him and dead in sin. Yahuah commanded us to observe, His statutes and ordinances and instructed us to follow them where we go and in the land we possess. We are to teach them to our family all the days of our life; so we may enjoy a long and prosperous life and increase mightily, as Yahuah, our Elohim, promised us.

Gentile believers are grafted into Israel's national life and acknowledge Yahuah as our Elohim. Yahuah is one, and Yeshua is His only son; we shall love Him with all our hearts, souls, and might. We must diligently teach His comments to our children when we sit in our homes, walk in the world, sleep, and awake in the morning. We meditate on His word and place it on the doorposts and gates. We do this as a reminder of His covenant with His people called by His name.

We also proclaim the soon return of Yeshua, "Messiah," and believe we may know His return season. The message is for believers, non-believers, and the unsaved; we believe the word of Elohim has been corrupted and has gone silent by false prophets and teachers leading people astray. Today our ministry is connecting the dots and proclaiming, THE ROCKS ARE CRYING OUT!

Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the universe, Who gave us the Word of Truth and planted everlasting life in our midst. Blessed are You, Elohim, Giver of the First and Second Covenants.
