BKP discusses ERIC with Betsy Young, Towns County GOP Chair

Raffensperger thinks ERIC is very safe. Georgia is staying in a multistate organization that helps keep voter registration lists accurate, even as other Republican-led states pull out amid misinformation and conspiracy theories, reports AJC. Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger reaffirmed his commitment to the Electronic Registration Information Center. Last week Raffensperger says, “Being a member of ERIC has allowed us to be recognized as having the cleanest voter rolls in the country.”
Raffensperger tweets: States claim they want to combat illegal voting and clean voter rolls but then leave the best and only group capable of detecting double voting across state lines. Reacting to disinformation they’ve hurt their own state and others while undermining voter confidence.

We have to wait and see what happens to Texas since the Texas GOP has sent a resolution urging their state to abandon ERIC. Betsy Young, Towns County GA GOP chair and Second Vice Chair to the 9th District, joins the show to discuss their resolution to abandon ERIC and their research results in Towns County.
ERIC is not about taking off voters, it is about adding voters. ERIC has an algorithm that is only based on the federal rules, not state rules. There is a board of directors that has control of your voter rolls. States are pulling out because they don’t have control of voter rolls. It is based on AI, artificial intelligence.
The next election we will have to have our eyes on AI. Anytime something is electronic there is always a potential that they can do something bad.
