EVER WONDERED WHAT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS, AND HOW IT WORKS?

Attorney Steve® explains what a class action lawsuit is and what the 4 requirements a Plaintiff must show to have their class action complaint "certified."

In general, you need a bunch of injured people who are "similarly situated" with common questions of law and fact and legal counsel that is up to the task of representing multiple Plaintiffs in one lawsuit.

If the class becomes certified, all the members of the class are bound by the legal decision (unless they previously "opted out" when they received notice of the lawsuit.

In many cases, this never happens because the amount of damages (for example in a copyright case brought by musicians or songwriters, photographers, or others involved in a consumer class action case) is so small that an individual Plaintiff does not want to OPT OUT and sue on their own behalf.

So this video discusses enough for you to know more than the average bear and sound intelligent at a cocktail party, in school, or at some other public place (or just good conversation amongst friends around the campfire).
