Attorney Steve provides his top 4 suggestions for “public domain” photo websites that you can use to help you build your youtube channel LEGALLY if you are on a shoestring budget and cannot afford paid stock photo art.

You should note the stock photo companies will usually provide some dollar amount for “indemnification” if you get a cease and desist letter or DMCA takedown notice (or a legal demand letter seeking settlement money).

That is the main reason I use paid stock footage sites.

But if you are pushed and strapped financially these can be a great way to go as an option#2.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS. PUBLIC DOMAIN MEANS THE PHOTOS WERE DEDICATED TO THE PUBLIC FOR USE, BUT SOMETIMES THEY STILL PLACE RESTRICTIONS WHICH YOU WILL BE BOUND BY. TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ THEM.

If you do not follow the limits placed on the photos or images, that could constitute a copyright infringement.
