THE CIRCUS is on a roadshow this week, talking to voters and citizens in 5 states in 5 days to find out how different parts of America are reacting to Donald Trump's presidency.

After a full day in New Hampshire on Monday, co-host Mark Halperin traveled back through DC Tuesday to survey some younger Americans on Trump's time in office. 5th grade teacher Steve Dingledine tweeted after Sunday night's episode, Checking & Balancing, he thought "The Circus" was like a civics lesson, and invited Mark to speak to his class about taking citizenship seriously.

Mark took him up on the offer.

The impressive and insightful group of students at Stoddert Elementary School talked a lot about the new president, describing him as "complicated," "troubling," "surprising," "hardworking," and "confused."

One student expressed concern about the president's immigration policy, saying "We're doing a good job of keeping the undesirables out, but we're doing a better job of keeping the desirables out."

Another had this assessment: "He's just doing what he wants to do, he's not trying to satisfy all the nation. He just sticks with ideas and doesn't try to improve them."

Watch the full clip to find out how they learn about news, their thoughts on why Donald Trump won the election, and what special gift they present Mark at the end.
