I have been asked in the past to show the steps I take to bring rough lumber to s4s, surfaced on four sides, lumber that is ready to build with. Why would you want to purchase rough lumber? Glad you asked! It is much, much cheaper to buy lumber from a lumber yard than a woodworking store or home center. Yes you need to have some pretty substantial and expensive machines to do the work but if you plan on going through a lot of lumber it is well worth it.
