Canada: Ministers on foreign Interference, Quebec's language law, Katie Telford committee testimony

Ministers speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal cabinet holds its weekly meeting. Mark Holland (government House leader) is asked about the upcoming vote in the House of Commons on the Conservative Party's motion that calls for Katie Telford, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's chief of staff, to testify at the ethics committee about alleged foreign election interference. The prime minister has confirmed that it will not be a confidence vote.
François-Philippe Champagne (innovation) responds to questions about Air Canada's decision to register with the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) in accordance with Bill 96, Quebec's Official and Common Language Act. CN also recently announced it had registered with the office. He is also asked about Volkswagen building an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Ontario, the proposed Rogers-Shaw deal, and U.S. President Joe Biden's upcoming visit to Canada.
Jean-Yves Duclos (health) comments on Nestlé's recall for some infant formula and on resignations at the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board, Canada's drug pricing regulator.

Following the cabinet meeting, Holland and Dominic LeBlanc (intergovernmental affairs) face questions about Telford's agreement to appear at the House procedure committee as part of its study on foreign election interference. Liberal members ended their filibuster at the committee and MPs unanimously voted in favour of a motion to call the prime minister's chief of staff to testify.
